June 2015

At the beginning of June we said goodbye to our wonderful Elder and Sister Lott who served so well in Landshut, Germany.
Here is Tanner heading out to teach with Elders Lyman and Dickson.
We enjoyed a wonderful visit from the Garrett Family.  It was good to see Elder Garrett again!
Our June Mission Leadership Council was exciting because all of our mission leaders were to receive iPads!  But first there was training.

And reporting of how each Zone was doing.

Then a quiz on the Safeguards for Using Technology as a Missionary

and finally....the first iPad goes to Elder Rozan!
Just a reminder--what is the real key to our success?
They were definitely ready to get their devices

Tosha and Tanner enjoyed observing from the back.
When it was time to get them set up, we had to go upstairs in the church to access the wifi.
Everyone was ready for a lunch break!

 What a great Council!
Shortly after our MLC, we headed around the mission to deliver iPads to all of the missionaries.
 Look at that excitement!
Two of our office elders--Elders Plumb and Pingel were wonderful to help the missionaries in each zone get their iPads all set up and working.
In this building we had to gather around the baptismal font to get good wifi.
  Our Super Salzburg Zone!
We did two zones each day--one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  So here is the Wien zone getting their iPads all set.
 Our Wunderbare Wien Zone!
The next day we met in Munich and started with the Munich Zone.
President Kohler gave out the first iPad in each group to one eager missionary.  He explained how what was in that box could lead people to Christ, could lift the work in our mission, and could help many souls.
The first missionary was always surprised to open the box and find a Book of Mormon in there--the REAL tool to conversion!
after that, they really did get iPads.
Setting them up.
Our Marvelous München Zone!
and, in the afternoon...

Our Stupendous Stuttgart Zone!
On Thursday we headed to Switzerland.
In this group Elder Monson got the first one...

Surprise!  It's The Book of Mormon!

These missionaries were very focused on getting their iPads working.
The senior couples and leaders of the zone gave support from the back.
Our Fabulous Freiburg Zone!
Taking the quiz again before getting their iPads
Elder Kopischke was eager to be the first...

Yay!

Another successful set-up.
Our Stellar St. Gallen Zone!
Elder Hansen volunteered to be the first in this group...
a Good Surprise!

In this building we went to the high council room to get wifi
Our Beautiful Bern Zone!
Elder Fischer opens the first for his group...

Elder Jakobi and Elder Fischer were ready for this!
For some of our missionaries this was a brand new experience.
We were in the home stretch--almost all done
Our Zealous Zürich Zone!
Thanks you two for helping this process go so smoothly!
At Bern Stake Conference on Sunday it was a real treat to see Sister Couper again--and to meet her family as well!
Then it was time for another transfer--here is the crew at the airport all ready to welcome the Goldens--The Kohlers, two of our office elders--Elders Pingel and Evans, Tanner's friend Henry, and our Assistants Elders Ridd and Dewey.
And here are the Goldens--four flew in and one more sister met us at the office from the train.  A small group but a good group!
Our dinner and testimony meeting that night at the Mission Home were wonderful, and it was so exciting to learn where each of these wonderful Goldens would be serving!
The next morning, after some more training, they were ready to head to the bahnhof and to their new areas and trainers.
Later that same day we welcomed the missionaries who were returning home.  Dinner was delicious and the testimony meeting that followed was sweet.
Our wonderful angels--Sister Gildner and Sister Fischer-Laudenbach made the evening so special.
What a great group--we hate to lose them, but are excited for what lies ahead!
At the airport the next morning it took a while to get everyone there, all the luggage checked, and everyone to their gates, but we finally got them all onto their flights.
Then we went home to be together and celebrate one year here in the Mission!
On Saturday evening the Munich Zone helped put on a beautiful musical fireside.  The missionary choir sounded and looked wonderful.
We even got to sing a musical number
On Sunday it was great to be in the Landshut Branch with Elders Werner and Wright!
And what a joy to be with our Munich Stake President--President Auras, and his amazing family.  We have such great leaders here in Church!
